PEGGY DARK RUM

A small batch, lightly aged, award-winning dark rum from the Far Shore Merchants, Isle of Man. The base rum is distilled from scratch in Cornwall, then blended and aged on the Isle of Man.

Peggy Dark Rum takes its name after the one of the Isle of Mans most captivating tales; the legendary “Peggy of Castledown” an 18th century, rum-running schooner boat.

This premium, small batch dark rum was awarded the Spirit Business; Rum and Cachaca Masters 2022, Dark Rum – Gold Medal.

Peggy Dark Rum is a full-bodied, double-distilled, dark rum aged for 3 months on a combination of French and American medium-to-high char oak chip.

Sophisticated and indulgent; offering top notes of toasted brown sugar, treacle, raisin with rich oak and dark caramel. With further notes of dark chocolate and coffee with subtle swirls of liquorice and marzipan. Rich and smooth with subtle spice.

Rum connoisseurs will enjoy Peggy Dark Rum neat or over ice to appreciate the complexities and subtle nuances within the rum. 

Prefer your rum with a mixer? Pair Peggy Dark Rum with a premium cola, ginger ale or fierce ginger beer. 

Feeling inventive? Try the ‘Peggys Punch’. Add 90ml of Peggy Dark Rum, 120ml chilled pineapple juice and a splash of soda water. Serve in a hurricane glass, garnish with a fresh sprig of mint and dust with grated nutmeg. 

Alternatively try the ‘Dead Eye Daiquiri’. Muddle 4-6 blackberries and a sprig of thyme. Add 50ml Peggy Dark Rum, 15ml lime juice, 10ml Crème de Cassis (or Grenadine) and 1 tsp of sugar. Shake hard, strain into a coupe glass and garnish with blackberries.
