Authentic Cornish Spirits, crafted and bottled in the heart of St Ives – steeped in folklore.
“Truth in the Legends”
It was rumoured that “St Ia’s” cove (old Cornish for St Ives) contained smuggling tunnels that flowed underground to the cellars of the town’s taverns via hidden doors and passageways. Pirates and smugglers would use these tunnels to transport barrels of contraband, tax-evaded rum, tropical fruits and exotic spices to the taverns.
“Folklore, heritage, shanties and past times”
Sailors along the Cornish coast were warned of the murderous Mermaids of Zennor. If the shores of the Zennor turned red, fishermen knew that ships and their captains had been seduced by the Siren’s enchanting songs and feasted upon them.
