Mai Tai
A classic tiki cocktail, mai tai meaning “excellent - out of this world” in tahitian, this south pacific cocktail is sunshine in a glass.
INGREDIENTS
45ml white rum (or try pineapple rum)
15ml dark rum
25ml triple sec (eg. Cointreau)
Dash of grenadine
50ml pineapple or orange juice
15ml almond syrup
Juice of half a lime
Maraschino cherry
Pineapple slice
Method
1. Add all the ingredients to a shaker with lots of ice. Shake for 20 seconds.
2. Strain the mix into a tumbler with lots of ice. Garnish with a wedge of lime, slice of pineapple and a maraschino cherry, Add a sprig of mint for an extra kick.
