Devil’s Bridge Spiced Rum

Discover the Legend

Once upon a time… the Devil came across an old lady, who was upset her cow had wondered across the river and couldn’t get back. The Devil offered to build a bridge in exchange for the first living soul that crossed the bridge. The lady got out a loaf of Bara Brith bread from her bag and hurled it across the bridge, and her faithful farm dog chased after it. The embarrassed Devil was outwitted by the old lady and was left with the soul of the farm dog.

The Devil was never seen in Wales again.

In the village of Devil’s Bridge, mid Wales, high in the Cambrian mountains near Aberystwyth, are a number of bridges that cross a deep gorge - they say the lowest, oldest bridge was built by the Devil himself…

Devil’s Bridge Spiced Rum was inspired by the old lady’s cunning plan to outwit the Devil, infused with the ingredient at the heart of the legend - Bara Brith – complemented by its unmistakable matt Devil-red bottle.

A blend of golden-aged base Caribbean rum is distilled in copper pot-still and steeped in a unique combination of botanicals, fruits and spices. The Bara Brith brings sweetness, Shirgar Carmarthenshire butter offers a velvety smoothness and Glengettie black tea gives depth of flavour and an unusual dryness to the finish. The warmth of spice from ginger, cinnamon (cassia), all spice and mace combine with further subtle clove and cardamom notes, all braced by smooth vanilla.

“Deliciously smooth, rich & complex”

A versatile and quaffable spiced rum; best enjoyed neat, over ice or paired with your favourite mixer. Ginger beer, ginger ale and a premium Cola are all fantastic. Enjoy a simple serve such as a classic Cuba Libre or ‘Devil & Stormy’.
