Penrhos Honey Spiced Rum

Beautiful premium spirits, hand-crafted with passion by two Herefordshire farming families in the West Midlands, giving you the best of both British and Welsh family heritage.

The Herefordshire Marches is a magical place, a natural border between England and Wales steeped in history. It is impossible not to feel the spirit of this land in the countryside and the people you meet. The name “Penrhos’ derives from the Welsh words ‘pen’ meaning head or top and ‘rhos’ meaning moor.

For generations, the families have farmed the land and captured these natural elements in every sense. Carefully grown and hand-picked ingredients that celebrate the provenance and stimulate the senses. Every element of the process has a purpose and a passion, magically distilled into nature’s own essence.

First bottled in April 2021 this honey spiced rum is the new kid on the block!

Triple-distilled rum from Fort Myers in Florida is infused with honey from bees from their own Cherry orchard at the farm. Bees are essential to the environment, without these super pollinators the fruit and crops at the farm would not thrive.

The team were very happy from the start with the spirit. Punchy, unaged rum but whilst allowing the flavour of their sweet, floral honey to shine - appealing to both the rum lover and the brands vast gin community.

“A celebration of the bees that keep the farm running…”

Silky sweet, floral honey with tangy citrus notes of orange and lemon, further spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and a little heat from all spice and peppercorn. A smooth rum, full-bodied and packed with character.

Penrhos Honey Spiced Rum is best served neat or over ice. If you’re looking for a long drink, pair with ginger ale and lime. Or alternatively, pair with a cloudy lemonade – sweet honey balanced by zesty citrus.

For a light, refreshing summer serve try a Strawberry Mojito. Blend 50ml Penrhos Honey Spiced rum, 8 strawberries, 25ml honey syrup and 25ml lime juice with ice. Serve in a cocktail glass and garnish with sliced strawberry and mint.

Raise a toast to the bees!

With such an abundance of fruits and botanicals grown on site at the farm, apples to elderflower to blueberries to rhubarb to raspberries, we’re sure there is much more to come from the team at Penrhos Spirits... more rum we hope!
