A stunning, award-winning, gold rum from El Salvador - inspired by insatiably curious ancient Maya. The same curiosity lead Cihuatán to create El Salvador’s first rum, crafted by hand in the heart of the Cihuatán valley. The tropical climate temperature variations in El Salvador contribute to perfectly aged rum.

Inspired by the colour ‘Indigo’, crafted by the ancient Maya using the Indigo Flower (anil) and the colour of Tlaloc the Mayan God of rain. Legend has it that the sleeping woman, the guardian goddess of the Cihuatán Valley, would negotiate on behalf of the Cihuatán people so that Tlaloc the Mayan God of Rain would make the valley ‘bloom’. Cihuatán believes the legends hidden within the land are revealed in their rum.

Indigo Rum is handcrafted at the distillery in El Salvador and barrel aged in ex-Bourbon oak casks for 8 years. The entire production chain from sugarcane seeding to distilling, to ageing to bottling is controlled. The rum is analysed for tannic content, acidity and esterification for quality control to ensure a premium rum.
Rich in flavour with tropical fruits, sweet honey, lemongrass and scorched citrus. Indulgent notes of oak wood, sweet vanilla, dark chocolate, hazelnut cappuccino, butterscotch and creamy Dulce de Leche.

Feeling inventive? Try a ‘Cranberry Dreams Punch’. Mix 50ml Cihuatán Indigo Rum, 50ml Cranberry juice, 50ml ginger beer and 30ml lemon juice. Serve over ice and garnish with a pinwheel of lime.
Perhaps something more feisty? Try a ‘Brunch Punch’. Mix 50ml Cihuatán Indigo Rum, 10ml lemon juice, and 25ml cranberry juice and top up with 70ml Prosecco.
